Referral Smith

Before you ask for more referrals, find where they break.

A referral needs six things to go right, starting with a client who can say what you do in one sentence. If one of the six is weak, asking harder does little. That weak step is the one to fix first.

Answer 11 questions. In about a minute you get a score out of 100, your weakest step, and a sentence your clients could use to refer you. You don't need to give an email to see it.

The full plan is free too. Leave your email and we'll send the fix, a script for asking a client, the partners who should be sending you work, and a gift idea for thanking the people who refer you.

1. What do you sell, to whom, and at what typical price?
2. About how much revenue does your business bring in a year?
3. How many active clients do you have?
4. Where did your last 5 clients come from? Check all that apply.
5. How did your best client ever find you?
6. Could your clients say who you help, in one sentence?
7. Do other businesses send you work?
8. Do you ask happy clients for referrals?
9. Do you have something useful people can pass along for you, like an article, checklist, or short talk?
10. When someone is referred to you, how fast do you reply?
11. How do you thank people who refer you?
